As the sun shines its own powerful light and warmth to the entire universe, we possess a bright powerful light within us to keep us balanced and centered. We can connect with the power that is within us by being balanced.
The main way to live in balance during our days is by living focus inside of us. In yoga this is called Drishti = the view or sight. We use dristi to direct our focus or gaze into a still spot in front of us, or the tip of the nose, or the center of our hearts. During yoga it helps us to maintain our focus on challenging or balancing poses. But also is used during meditation to keep our focus within; flourishing our energy and releasing any external distractions.
In life this works the same way. In order for us to find balance in our daily lives, our drishti is staying focused on our goals to help us to maintain our strength and power even during challenges.
To practice this, the best way is to start our days releasing any discomforts from the physical body and all arising thoughts as soon as we wake up. One option is to go out into nature, like in the yard, stretch and sit with the morning sun and connect with the early weather, sounds and feelings; connecting with nature. Then, we can start taking deep breaths, conscious breaths that allow us to feel the air temperature and its smooth texture traveling through our bodies. And lastly, we can meditate. Simply close the eyes, without expectation or attachments, simply being in the present with our physical body sensations, breath movement, and our heart beats; guiding us to feel our power within.
This is balance, a deep connection that I assure you that once done, you will understand better the rhythm and balance that you will follow through your day in a more smoother way. The day will be more balanced, creative, energized, relaxed and powerful. I invite you to give it a try.
That the light in me, recognizes the light in you,
