Movement and Flow for Creativity

Updated: Jun 16, 2019

When was the last time we took time to appreciate the movement and flow in our physical and emotional bodies?... It’s so interesting to see that our body is mainly made of water and we don’t always take advantage of it. Our bodies are made of 60% water. We depend on it mainly for our blood and urinary system, joints, and organs. That liquid is in a constant movement and circulating through our bodies. It allows us to move, to flow, to be alive, to be healthy.

If we connect the water idea as an element in nature and the energetic water element in our bodies, we can find a great relationship in between both of them. Water in the oceans is constantly moving, creating life, waves, and sounds. A river stream is always moving and flowing, finding its own way. It goes through rocks, around them, and over them, creating its own path. It never stops. Our bodies, our minds, and our souls are in the same constant movement. For example, our spine can show us a lot about that fluid that has a flow of liquid and energy. This energy starts from the top of our heads, comes straight down to our roots (supporting and strengthening the root), and it grows taller to find its way back again to the beautiful light all the way at top. Once that energy gets up, it will get out and it will get transformed into a beautiful waterfall of joy, pleasure, and contentment; giving us purpose to create and find passion for life.

When we start moving this energy, it begins at the root (the base of the spine) and grows into the pelvis. The pelvis then becomes a beautiful bowl of energy containing the fluid of life that will be in constant movement around and up, providing everything that our body needs. In a physical way it will flow to our blood system, organs, and of course our brain. In the spiritual side the hips are going to hold, create, transform, and flow that energy to find creativity, passion, and joy about our feelings and emotions. This connection of the hips and lower back and the water element inside our bodies can bring (if we’re willing) much bigger and wider understanding of ourselves.

We should flow in every decision we make. We can stop and block our thoughts or feelings, but our bodies still in need to keep moving and flowing to find its own way. Here comes a question that I always ask: Are we allowing ourselves to feel?, Do we enjoy those feelings, to be alive, and to be present? When the water element is balanced, we can have a beautiful love connection with our bodies, creativity, and joy, allowing change to happen and have a wider perspective and possibilities. But in the contrary, if we are blocking creativity or fluidity, we will be blocking the good and the challenging emotions in an even way.

We’re alive, of course everything will be different. That is why is so important to let everything move in its own way, allowing happiness, passion, and even our sensuality to flow all the time. Because that way our energy will keep working for us to be healthy and bright.

I invite you today to find this beautiful connection. You can take a long bath; aware of what it makes you feel. Maybe rejecting? accepting? Of hopefully making you smile? You can also go out to take a hike, find a stream of water or a waterfall, maybe go to the beach and just notice how water flows all the time. And reflect on what is going on inside of you. Notice how you can grasp and let go things in your life, enjoy the feeling and let them go, and then get another thing and do the same action over and over again; letting life pass and circulate through you. The beautiful element of water comes to teach us to be happy, healthy, and bright with a beautiful abundant love. Take a moment to enjoy your feelings and the connection with the flow of life. Our lives are meant to flow, shift, move, and transform constantly.

The light flowing in me, recognizes the light flowing in you,
